Emma is currently employed as the Events and Facilities Coordinator in the Toronto office of the Canadian Media Production Association (CMPA). Joining the organization in the fall of 2010 as an Administrative Assistant, her excellent organizational skills and past experience in management have led to her being promoted to her current position. Currently, she is responsible for the smooth running of the Toronto office, scheduling meetings in the boardroom there and planning events such as the annual Holiday party and external meetings. Additionally, she provides administrative cover where necessary.
Emma brings years of experience as an administrative professional in both Canada and Ireland, along with numerous educational credentials. She completed an MSc (ECON) in Security Studies at Aberystwyth University in Wales, her thesis focusing on Migration and Health Security in the European Union. Prior to completing her MSc, she developed a comprehensive understanding of government policy and procedure through her BA in Public Administration, University of Limerick.
Before returning to her studies in 2005, Emma spent many years developing her customer service skills through employment in the family fast food business. Her dedication to the industry culminated in the purchase of a restaurant, which she owned and operated for ten years. When not working, Emma is an avid knitter and has a keen interest in current affairs, reading and travel.
